          Description

Libyan Desert Glass formed about 29 million years ago after what is believed to have been a meteor shower in the Saharan Desert between modern-day Egypt and Libya. The meteors struck the desert sand with scorching hot temperates to transform the sand into Silica, the material that composes Libyan Desert Glass. Silica only forms in temperatures of over 2,900 degrees Fahrenheit. Libyan Desert Glass is also known as Libyan Gold Tektite.

We work directly with local archeologists to ensure our Libyan Desert Glass is 100% authentic and ethically sourced.
